Our Team
As the Founder and Managing Partner of CapNorth, Zack specializes in debt and equity placement across all asset types, as well as growing the CapNorth platform. His primary focus is on structured capital solutions for construction, bridge, and permanent financing assignments, where additional layers of capital are required via stretch-senior debt, mezzanine debt, preferred equity, and other financing instruments for clients looking to retain ownership.
With nearly 14 years of experience in commercial real estate, Zack has closed over $2.3 billion in debt and equity transactions. Prior to founding CapNorth, he served as a Managing Director at JLL and HFF in the Seattle office, where he placed $1.7 billion in debt and equity. Over the past decade, Zack has significantly expanded capital in the Pacific Northwest by sourcing funds from other major financial markets, funds, and family offices.
Zack holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from Gonzaga University. He is also a licensed real estate broker in the state of Washington.
At CapNorth, Scott serves as the Managing Director of Debt and Equity Originations. He specializes in the origination, structuring, placement, and closing of commercial real estate debt and equity for various entities, including agencies, banks, credit unions, debt funds, life insurance companies, pension funds, REITs, and Wall Street sources.
With over 12 years of experience in the real estate industry, Scott has been involved in the origination and execution of over $1.85 billion in transactions. Before joining CapNorth, he was the Director of Multifamily Debt and Equity Originations at HFF and JLL. Scott also spent time on the principal side, acquiring conventional and student housing assets nationwide, building relationships with JV equity partners, and sourcing land opportunities for development. This diverse experience gives Scott a unique perspective and skill set, enabling him to work closely with clients to structure the most optimal capital stack and achieve above-market returns.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business with a concentration in Finance from the University of Washington Bothell. He is a licensed real estate broker in Washington, has received the CCIM designation, and holds a certificate from the Runstad School of Real Estate at the University of Washington.
Drew joins CapNorth as a Senior Director after previous tenures at JLL, HFF, and Marcus & Millichap. With nine years of experience in commercial real estate, he has focused on debt and equity placement transactions across all asset types throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Drew joined CapNorth in early 2023. Before that, he was a Director at JLL Capital Markets, Americas, and HFF, where he helped place more than $1.1 billion in loans as a Producer. Prior to moving into production, he was an Associate with JLL and a financial analyst at Marcus & Millichap.
Drew graduated from Gonzaga University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, concentrating in Finance and Economics.
With 8 years of experience in commercial real estate, Marshall joins CapNorth as a Director focusing on debt and equity placement transactions across all asset types primarily in the Pacific Northwest and Southeast.
Before joining CapNorth, Marshall worked at HFF and JLL where he helped close over $1.2 billion in commercial and multifamily transactions across the country. Marshall has also spent time on the principal side of the business, where he received valuable experience in acquisitions, development and asset management. This experience allows Marshall to have a direct understanding of clients’ needs and priorities when it comes to managing their portfolio optimally.
Marshall graduated from the Wharton Business School in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a concentration in Real Estate, receiving direct exposure to some of the greatest minds in Real Estate, including Sam Zell, Alan Feldman, and Peter Linneman.
John comes to CapNorth from the commercial banking industry after 10 years, where he served as the Director of Commercial Lending. Over the past 10 years, John has worked on all facets of commercial real estate, with additional focus on creative financing options and affordable housing throughout the Puget Sound Region, Central and Eastern Washington. Through his time working with real estate professionals and business owners, John excels at getting to know each of his clients and understanding their fill financial picture before creating individualized solutions to meet their needs.
John currently resides in Spokane, WA and is involved in the local community. John is native to Eastern Washington, growing up in the southeast corner of the state in the small town of Asotin, WA. John graduated from Gonzaga University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, concentrating in Finance and Operations.
Capriel Goldich is an Analyst at CapNorth, with responsibilities including underwriting, financial modeling, asset management, due diligence and closing support. She is also a licensed real estate managing broker in Washington state.
Prior to CapNorth, Capriel was a real estate attorney focused on acquisitions, dispositions and leasing. She holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington.
Todd Luther is an Analyst at CapNorth, specializing in property analysis, loan sizing, and underwriting. Before joining CapNorth, he spent 17 years owning and operating businesses in the healthcare industry, gaining valuable experience in management and financial analysis.
Todd studied at Western Washington University, where he built a strong foundation in business principles. His diverse background equips him with a unique perspective for thorough property analyses and accurate loan sizing.
